Türkiye operates approximately 8,500 active dry-cleaning workshops — the vast majority neighborhood-scale (50-150 kg/day) single-operator shops. Three critical trends have shaped the past decade: (1) perchloroethylene restrictions tightening in line with EU directives — new installations now mostly favor hydrocarbon (KWL/Sensene) or wet-cleaning systems; (2) laundry-collection apps and chain brands are consolidating the market — independent shops either merge or sell out; (3) occupational safety and waste-management inspections have intensified — solvent emission reports, waste drum tracking, and ozone disinfection logs are now mandatory. Operationally, the most critical metric is the ironing bottleneck.
